The history

The first settler had resided via frankish farmers in 1150. They had built a stony church in the "Niederdorf" (today near the hill). The church was sacred for the holy Gilles. In 1811 the church was demolished, because there were 7 years contest. Another cause is the church was ruinous. In addition the village possessed a chapel, which was increased and extended in 1752/53. Now the chapel calls itself  “Our Dear Wives” (german: "Unserer Lieben Frauen").

It had existed two farms, called the upper and the lower temple. Those farms led to the fact that St. Egidien and Tillingen (or Tilgen) had existed long time next to each other, because it was easier to designate the long stretched valley of the Lungwitz.

The first documentary mention goes back to the year 1320. In 1681 our village was suburbanise to Forderglauchau during the division of the feudal governance.
